Kung fu panda was my favorite franchise since my early childhood. After decades in present the 4th fells like a forgotten fallen warrior. All k.f.p movies released before this were best in dynamic action, fluid animation & wide narrative. I’d kept my hopes up for 5 years towards 4th movie. But, po ate it like a dumpling. Story is fully predicate, villain had no tragic backstory, immoral obsession & dark past connection.Even Tai lung/Kai/Shen made a huge impact on striking fear, terror & mayhem across valley. Animation quality is faint compared to 3rd film. Even 2nd film established po’s personal challenge, complication, frustaion, anxiety was absent in 4th. Some comedy becomes stupid & unrelevant, Action is less intensive. Morever, both dads keeps worrying like hes still a noddle shef.4th movie could have been endgame but it’s like quantumania.

Although not as good as the other three, Kung Fu Panda 4 is still a good movie. The movie may have many flaws such as how the furious five are almost non-existent and that the main antagonist even with the power of Kung fu from many great masters and villains, she is defeated by her “apprentice” I also don’t think that Zhen should become the dragon warrior but whatever. I liked Shifu in the movie except that he wanted Po to leave being the dragon warrior and find a successor, I feel that it didn’t really make much sense and Po is still quite young. I liked the great wall of china like fortress for the main antagonist which and the komodo dragon army. The city was also a nice design and concept to add to the world of Kung Fu Panda. To wrap up my short review, I would suggest watching this movie especially with the family. It has a good story and good morals which make this movie a four stars.

A trim, but decent late-sequel to the Kung Fu Panda franchise that isn’t as bad as people are making it out to be. I’d argue that the movie’s biggest flaw is that it’s pace to quickly and holds back giving more meat to where the story and characters could go. The near absence of the Furious Five is a big shame too. But from what we have, it’s still a pretty fun martial arts comedy that (for the most part) keeps Po’s character growth in check as he now has to pass his mantle to someone else. The Chameleon villain is pretty decent, with some creative shapeshifting powers despite the similarities to the previous villain Kai’s chi-stealing powers. But there’s some good parallels between her, Po, and newcomer Zhen about how underdogs from humble beginnings adapt to change and handle power in different ways. It’s not a great sequel for a franchise this amazing, but it’s a lot better than people are giving it credit for.

This is the best you guys at Dreamworks could muster up for a sequel to one of the best trilogies in cinematic history? Disappointing and bland

This is an absolute piss-poor follow up to 3 dreamworks classics. Shitty characters, undone character development, forced comedy if you can call it that, and so much more that i cant list. Needless to say, this movie never shouldve existed, and it shouldve stayed a trilogy

Unfortunately, it is quite obvious that this is the weakest installment of the franchise so far. With animation that seems to have downgraded slightly in comparison to its predecessors and creative decisions that were kind of a let-down, it was hard to keep an open mind after the perfection of the first three movies. However, looking past this, it still has the same heart of the franchise and a villain who is still just as threatening and poses as a reflection of Po. With Po in search of a new Dragon Warrior, he finds that he is a better teacher now and a better warrior, and is slowly on the path to true enlightenment. Garnering the respect of the unlikeliest of people and places, and rising a new star, this movie still is a Kung Fu Panda movie and though it doesn’t shine as brightly as the rest, I still welcome this into the beloved franchise I have known for half my life.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is… well, it exists I guess. But that’s the problem—it just exists. After the incredible highs of the first three movies, this one feels like reheated leftovers. Sure, Po is still Po, and the animation looks nice (it’s DreamWorks, after all), but everything else feels watered down and uninspired. The story is painfully predictable, like they followed a ‘Generic Animated Sequel’ template. The jokes don’t hit the same, and Po’s character arc feels like it’s stuck on repeat. Instead of growing or facing a meaningful challenge, he just kinda… exists. The new villain? Completely forgettable. I can’t even remember their name, and I just finished the movie. The Furious Five? Barely there. Seriously, blink and you’ll miss them. And don’t get me started on the forced emotional moments—they feel shoehorned in rather than earned. It’s like the movie is trying to remind you of why you loved the earlier films without doing anything new to deserve that love. Look, it’s not bad. Kids will probably enjoy it, and die-hard fans might find some moments to smile at. But for everyone else, it’s just another sequel that exists because the studio wanted to squeeze a little more money out of the franchise. If you’re a huge Kung Fu Panda fan, you might want to watch it just to say you did. But honestly? You’re better off rewatching the first three and pretending this one doesn’t exist. Good job Peacock, you ruined a childhood movie for us.
